This winter, the VTL offered Motion Capture Performance and Production for the first time. The class quickly reached maximum capacity. The course is designed to foster the basic skills of Motion Capture Animation Techniques for use in Virtual Theatricality, Motion Pictures, Gaming, and Motion Studies. Students learned how to navigate the Motionbuilder Interface, how to setup and conduct a capture session and how to calibrate. Students also how to edit and blend Motion Capture Data and Keyframed Animations. All students in the course created final projects. Extensive video footage was shot of this class and we will be posting some soon. E. Alan Contino and Brian Johnson were the instructors. Mo-Cap modeling and movement demos were by Lori Przyblo.
